MOKB Presents
Holler On The Hill Festival
September 21 & 22 – Garfield Park
Event Profile
Holler On The Hill is a 2-day boutique music festival taking place on September 21 and 22 at historic Garfield Park. Holler On The Hill was created my MOKB Presents as an annual “reunion” for the fans and artists the companyhas developed friendships with over the course of the last 10 years. Holler on the Hill opps for more a more communal festival atmosphere focused on artist discovery and fan experience, as opposed to big headlining artists. It has to be grassroots, like that feel of a pickin’ and singin’ session on a neighbors front porch. The festival leans heavy on alt-country, outlaw and Americana styles that continue to drive today’s hit country, which remains the number one radio format in Indianapolis. Though the festival toes the genre line from time to time, the focus always on some of the best songwriters making music right now.
“I’ve always had the vision in my head for this festival,” said Holler On The Hill curator and founder, Josh Baker. “It’s just as much about the community and fans that rally around this kind of music as the event itself. That communal spirit will drive the event with combining elements of a music festival, family reunion and community picnic.”
The 2019 Holler on the Hill Lineup includes Citizen Cope, Mt. Joy, Nikki Lane, Justin Townes Earle, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, John Moreland, Murder By Death, Mipso, Kristin Hersh, Red Wanting Blue, Will Hoge, American Aquarium and more. See the full lineup here.
As music festivals drift to atmospheric expense, Baker wanted to create a festival that working families could attend together, returning the festival experience to something truly open to all.
Holler On The Hill will feature two stages in 2019 and the return of the popular Hilltop Hangout and Vendor Trail activations. The festival will expand their footprint in 2020. The MacAllister Amphitheatre at Garfield Park, which MOKB Presents has been developing over the last four years, will serve as the main stage with a second just outside of the entrance to the amphitheater. The festival will present 25 acts across two days with single-day tickets starting at just $45. For more information, visit the Holler On The Hill for more information.
