Battle of the Bands
2020-2021
Event Profile
After a long hiatus, Indy’s popular Battle of the Bands survivor series rose to the top in 2020. 72 bands competed for the shot a the ultimate grand prize – $10,000 and a touring van. Every Wednesday night, preliminary rounds packed the house at HI-FI for a diverse showcase of the best of the best Indy has to offer. The finale, held at The Vogue, delivered an incredible lineup of finalists to a sold out crowd. Aside from the competition, the event united the local music community and created a weekly “stomping” grounds that spawned collaboration, side projects and new friends. The mismatch of genres, courtesy of the blind draw, gave spectators a diverse lineup of music allowing a full showcase of the best local music talent. Now, its original organizers have resurrected one of the most influential local music events in Indianapolis of the last 20 years.
