Event Profile
Indy’s Battle of the Bands came back in a big way in 2020 and the audience responded. 72 bands competed for the shot at the ultimate grand prize – $10,000 and a touring van. Every Wednesday night for 16 weeks, preliminary rounds packed the house at HI-FI for a diverse showcase of the best of the best Indiana has to offer. The finale, held at The Vogue in Broad Ripple, delivered an incredible lineup of finalists to a sold out crowd. Competition aside, the event united the local music community and created a weekly “stomping” grounds that spawned collaboration, side projects and new friends. The mismatch of genres, courtesy of a blind draw, gave spectators a diverse lineup of music, allowing a full showcase of the best local music talent. Now, its original organizers have resurrected one of the most influential local music events in Indianapolis of the last 20 years.
After a wildly successful series in 2020; it’s on to 2021.
